Are Jury Trials Suspended in King County Superior Court?
Yes. Due to COVID-19 “Criminal” Jury Trials are suspended in King County Superior Court through February 12, 2021. Earliest date for trial is now February 16, 2021.

Are police reports admissible in my case?
No. Police reports are hearsay and not admissible in Court. The officer must testify in person.

Are DUI payment plans available?
Yes, DUI payment plans are available for the the attorney fee. Typically, the minimum down payment required is $1500. Monthly payments are usually $500 or so. Although, this can vary by client. Please contact our office for details.

Is Work Crew available in King County?
Yes. Sometimes work crew will be part of the resolution of your DUI case. Basically you are picking-up trash along the roadways for 8 hours. It is usually a better option than jail for most clients.

Does Kotlowski Law Office handle Unemployment Appeal Hearings?

How many days do I have to request a DOL Hearing?
You have only 7 calendar days to request a Hearing.

What happens if the witnesses do not show up in my DV Assault case?
It will most likely be dismissed. Police reports are considered hearsay and will not be admitted. Usually the victim is required to appear and testify for the case to proceed. However, there are exceptions.

What are my chances at winning the DOL DUI Hearing?
The exact figures vary from year to year, but it is typically around 25% or 1 in 4.

Are there alternate DUI Jails?
Yes. To complete your mandatory minimum sentence I usually ask the Court to allow my client to do their jail time in an alternate Jail. Usually Issaquah. There are other options too. You have to pay for it, but conditions are a lot better than downtown Seattle or Kent.
